Westchester Circus Arts is a woman-owned business, founded by “circus-strong girl”, Hilary Sweeney. As an aerialist for over 15 years and counting, she is a living example of how transformational and empowering the Circus Arts can be. She believes people of all ages should not have to “runaway” with the circus or be born into a circus family in order to benefit from the artform. She created Westchester Circus Arts as a place where people can experience circus in the most direct way and discover what it can do for their own lives.

“Three-Ring Empowerment for kids…” – Westchester Magazine

The heart and soul of Westchester Circus Arts begins with its Directors - Carlo Pellegrini and Hilary Sweeney. As long time circus performers, they partnered up to bring the highest quality circus instruction and unique programming to the area.

Carlo Pellegrini is a veteran circus performer who traveled the world with Lichtenstein Circus, Big Apple Circus, and Nikolais Dance Theater. He is a social circus educator and founder of Amazing Grace Circus – a community circus with a social purpose. Carlo’s 40+ years of professional circus experience is the guide for Westchester Circus Arts curriculum and program development. His social circus background puts all our members in a frame of mind that anything is possible and empowers them to achieve success.

Hilary Sweeney has performed in Cirque le Masque’s “Carnivale”, “Above the Belt” Off-Broadway, Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, ImaginAerial, Grounded Aerial and numerous special events for clients including Mercedes Benz, MTV, the NY International Auto Show, Bloomberg, and Pepsico and more. Prior to her circus career she trained since the age of 5 in ballet. She was a Westchester Business Council’s 40-under-40 Rising Stars Award Recipient for her work with Westchester Circus Arts.
