At Westchester Circus Arts, your child will improve his or her confidence, coordination, strength, flexibility, discipline, and team building skills … while defying gravity and having fun!
Members of our Circus School ages 5-18 have access to leveled training opportunities (beginner-advanced) in the following Circus Arts disciplines: Aerial Arts, Acrobatics, Equilibristics, Juggling & Clowning.
Aerial Artists perform acrobatics on aerial apparatuses. Apparatuses include: Silks, Trapeze, Lyra, Spanish Web, Hammock, Cloud Swing, and Corde lisse.
Similar to gymnastics, but non-competitive and artistically focused. Includes handstands, acro-balancing, tumbling, trampoline, human pyramids, and hand-to-hand partnering.
Skills include: Wire-walking, Rolling Globe, Rola Bola, Stilt-walking, Unicycling, and Chair Balancing.
Includes balls, rings, scarves, clubs, spinning plates, diablo, spinning carpets, and foot juggling.
Clowning encompasses acting, physical comedy, stage presence, scripted routines, improve, and voice training.
Circus is meant to be performed! All members of our circus are offered performance opportunities ranging from informal recitals to formal productions.
All new artists are oriented with an exciting session in General Circus Arts. The curriculum is designed to build fundamental skills in all the circus arts disciplines: Aerial Arts, Acrobatics, Equilibristics, Juggling, and Clowning.
Upon completing a session of General Circus Arts, our artists advance into more specialized training areas. Based on interests and skill level they delve into deeper study in any or all of the circus disciplines.
Advanced artists and artists interested in pursuing a professional career in the Circus Arts are invited to audition for our Pro-Track program. This intensive program is directed and taught by top circus artists in the field. For serious students only.
